Dr Khadder Aweidah
Hi, I graduated from Hungary in 1992 and moved to New Zealand in 1996. I worked in the hospital system until 2006, then chose to move into general practice. I achieved membership in the Royal NZ College of Urgent Care Doctors and obtained a fellowship from the Royal NZ College of General Practitioners in 2008. I have worked in east and south Auckland communities with diverse populations. I enjoy all aspects of family medicine, dealing with accidents and sporting injuries. I enjoy outdoor activities and spending time with my family.
The nurse who works with me is Karishma and Tanzeema.

Dr Wahida Amran-Safi
Hi, I graduated from the University of Otago in 2013.
After graduating, I completed my internship at Auckland City Hospital, after which I joined the GP training program at Mangere Health Centre. In 2016 I started my first Locum position with the wonderful team at MHC and completed my GP fellowship in 2019. I left MHC to get married and returned in mid-2021, right in the middle of the pandemic! I'm excited to return and work alongside this lovely community.

Dr Satya Subramanian
Hi, I graduated from Madias University in India, and I've been working at The Mangere Health Centre since 2010. I have gained experience working and focusing on women’s health and pediatrics. I'm a fellow with the Royal NZ College of General Practice. I enjoy gardening and traveling.

Dr Rekha Das
Hello, I graduated from Mumbai University in India. I joined the Mangere Health Centre in 2010 and enjoy being here. I'm a fellow with the Royal NZ College of General Practice. My special interests are Paediatrics and Women’s Health. When I am not working, I enjoy walking and spending time with my family.

Dr Timothy Hou
Hi, I have been working at the Mangere Health Centre since 1999 and have enjoyed forming relationships with many families in that time. I am a graduate of the University of Otago and have post-grad diplomas in sports medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, and A&E medicine. I am also a master practitioner in NLP. I work part-time as the GP clinical lead for the Planned, Proactive Care program at Counties Manukau Health & I am the GP lead for Diabetes at Counties Manukau Health. I have an interest in all aspects of family medicine and enjoy developing team-based care with several excellent nurses.

Dr J David Hall
I have been a family GP at MHC specializing in total family health care for more than 30 years. I enjoy General Practice in South Auckland and feel priviledged to be able to play a supportive and continuous advisory role to all my regular patients and families.
I have special interests in children's and women's health and encourage regular checkups. I provide care, advice, and management for all aspects of health, including asthma, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, gout and arthritis, maternity shared care, and contraception.
I am an advocate of preventative care regarding lifestyle changes, promoting a healthy diet, regular exercise, weight loss, and early detection and correction of possible long-term illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure so that ongoing damage can be avoided or kept to a minimum.

Dr Saima Rashid
I graduated from Pakistan and completed my Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in 2010. Before moving to New Zealand, I worked as a gynaecologist in the Middle East. I worked in different hospitals in New Zealand before starting as a general practitioner in 2020.
I have a special interest in women's health, contraception, sexual health, and minor surgical procedures. I enjoy communicating with families and making positive changes to improve their health.

Tessa - Health Improvement Practitioner (Currently on Maternity leave)

My name is Tessa Hafoka, and I am the Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP) at Mangere Health Centre.
I’m an occupational therapist by training and enjoy supporting people to connect with what is meaningful to them, whatever that means. I have experience working in mental health and social services, alongside lived experience of disability and chronic pain.
As a HIP, I provide brief sessions that focus on practical strategies and linking people with external services.
Some of the common aspects I can support people with are:
- Stress
- Sleep
- Anxiety, depression, or feeling down
- Pain
- Coping with physical health conditions
- Relationship challenges
- Drug or alcohol use
The service I provide is free for all registered patients of Mangere Health Centre. If the above sounds helpful, or you would like to come in for a chat, please speak to reception, your doctor or nurse.
Anu - (Health Coach)
Role description: Our Health Coach can provide the knowledge, skills, and confidence to help you reach your health goals.
Bula, I have been a Health Coach at Mangere Health Centre since May 2022. I'm of Fijian/Indian heritage. I have a Degree in Sports and Recreation and a background in Nutrition. I enjoy my role and being part of the clinic team, working together to help the community.
Consultations with the Health Coach are free! Will accept walk-ins and appointments.
